After a string of social media posts that hinted at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an unidentified artist, it is based on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The Space Key is a collection of five physical items which unlocks an exclusive digital artwork by a yet to be identified artist. The collectors' piece was created in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to only five units. It will be auctioned off soon.
The heart of every Space Key is a block of advanced carbon fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. After returning to Earth the block was engraved with a QR codes that connect to the digital element in the Space Key.
Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that occurs only seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of the five images was captured by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.
Oefner used an inflatable camera with an lens to take individual images, which were later assembled into the final photograph. The result is a photograph that is completely out of the world. It captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic view of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, however the exact date and time of the event hasn't been set yet.
The auction
